Era solo un mio sospetto

once you've started to use the bread maker, you won't regret it!  We use ours about every other day and the bread is so much nicer than supermarket stuff.

Good on you.  I make bread in the winter, but in the summer the kitchen gets too hot.  What does the machine do?  All you  need is a large bowl, a work surface for kneading and bread tins.  Though since I put off this traditional method through possible laziness, perhaps a machine would be a good idea.

Anyone tried a pasta machine?

the sky is looking as sorry for itself as it can, the CD i bought is delayed in the postal system by one more day, and of course Cadogan Hall box office is closed, so i can't get some free tickets.

I just ventured out to the shop and I can see my breath!!, and there are sizeable tree branches laying on the pavements. It`s nearly June for God`s sake!  However, the Selections catalogue has popped into my In box. Now, do I open it and risk staring bankruptcy in the face?  Again. Or .......

I hate to spoil your good time here on grumpy thread, but we have a nice sunny day with nice wind. There is no rain and I have my cloths on the line. Now I am very sorry I wrote it. Please forgive me.

Well, at least it is not raining in SELondon although the precipitations are unsettling for southerners. To a Mancunian this is nothing ... life goes on for us Northerners !!!

It did predict rain from Sunday to Wednesday so I suppose it could be worse!!  (although a bit chilly I agree Mort!)

Drat - I just found a 2 piano Liszt CD I don't have in an American CD shop but, for some unknown reason, it's not at MDT even though it's made by Hungaroton!
I suppose I'll have to email them and get them to get it (just like the Thalberg one last year)...

It didn't matter - just ordered it from the shop I found it at!  What the heck, it's only £11 including the postage (makes up for the one that never arrived from Amazon)

Hi t-p,
Yes, I didn't give many details away did I?
Anyway, it's played by Duo Egri & Petris of Liszt's arrangements for 4 Hands of Schubert's Marches (which were originally for piano duo, then arranged by Liszt for solo piano and then arranged again by Liszt back to 4 hands); it also includes the 4 hand version of the Rackozi March and the first recording of the Grossekonzertstucke on themes by Mendelssohn which is for 2 pianos!
The same duo also recorded the complete Liszt operatic paraphrases for 2 pianos and 4 hands, also on Hugaroton (an excellent CD as well).  Incidentally, there's also piano duet versions of all of the first 12 symphonic poems as well as assorted other pieces - I think if you add everthing up, it comes to about 10 - 12 CDs worth of piano duo / 2 piano music by Liszt and much of it has yet to be recorded  Angry
Hope this helps!

Jonathan

Have you ever come across the Mangos Sisters' recordings of Liszt's symphonic poems for 2 pianos?

Hi!  A, yes they do sound like a juicy novelty act - perhaps they juggle with mangos whilst performing Liszt whilst dressed as white rabbits  Cheesy

Good morning Increpatio. Where on earth do you find such beautiful things?

Good morning Richard.  Iwantoneofthose.com and engadget.com are always good for keeping up on these sorts of things.

And yep, t-p, it does tell the time.  Which will be *quite* the novelty.  I may have to get a haircut before getting that amount of attention.

Good on you.  I make bread in the winter, but in the summer the kitchen gets too hot.  What does the machine do?  All you  need is a large bowl, a work surface for kneading and bread tins.  Though since I put off this traditional method through possible laziness, perhaps a machine would be a good idea.

Ah, the bread maker has automatic kneeding/rising/baking.  Which saves time; but the results aren't half as good as properly homemade bread.  But they're twice as good as store bought bread.  Also, you can set it on a timer so that there's freshly baked bread ready in the morning.  However, owing to it's occasional beeping and the fact that our kitchen is below bedrooms, that's not really an option, alas!

But yes, Jonathan, I am really enjoying using it; it's much easier to experiment, and I don't feel so bad with my plans of just tossing piles of chopped fruit and nuts into the mixture.  Woo!
