Count me in too.
And I think Bach is ok anytime of the day or night. I love Bach.
Who is playing Mozart Violin concerto. I love Mozart. I think that A is in period instrument performance now and is playing some music with different bow.

No preparatory upbeats required, Baz. Staight in with the downbeat.  Grin

Actually, I think I may have started already!

Maybe we should have a separate thread on the popular culture theme?

Ho "A".  Well!  I'm with your partner all the way with pop music.  I hate its cheapness and if you want a real education get onto the pop channels on Sky.  What a load of  **/><//%##.  I am "sound inclined" and find TV adverts with the thumping, crashing noise just about intolerable.  I also cannot stand the beeping and thumping intro to News 24 and the background loop of noise when the news presenters are giving a summary.  It's unnecessary.  I won't go into a shop where muzak is playing 'cos it makes me really irate.  I have never understood why we are supposed to like "pop" with its tunelessness, its harmonic desert, its limited form and lack of any development, its performers lack of vocal quality.  I can't stand electric guitars and pop percussionists.  Saxophones I hate.  Well "A".  How about that for a rant?
Cheers to you and your "fella".

You see S'Wave, it has not been as easy as that. As a music teacher in a secondary school I 'had' to know what they were listening to, it was the only way to get anywhere near their wavelength, and with 2 teenage daughters at the time I also got dragged into what they were listening to.

Saxophones... I agree, but I had to put up with them because me little darlings at school loved them.. I have a personal dislike for badly played clarinets myself  ( sorry ollie... I know you play 'properly!!)

I actually agree with everything you say S'Wave ( but don't tell my feller!!)

Cheers from him and me to you !!

Sorry, may be it did not come out I intended. I think they use different strings and bows to play music of Baroque period. I am going to modify my post. Sorry, I am under the weather today and may be it affected my brain.

I know very little about popular culture. HH introduced me to a few things, one of which was KJ.
May be I need some education in this area. What do other people think? May be people can post pop songs that are good. I sometimes asked to accompany some songs and end up thinking: It was not bad. However, I think majority of people here will not like it.

...And while we're ranting, I've just written a long message here and LOST IT! That's because in Preview, I tried to correct a typo, but there didn't seem to be an EDIT button. So - of course (!) the entire message just disappeared into the ether.

Is life worth living?

I can't see them anywhere - no buttons or links.

Being better than me with computers, you will tell me, t-p, that it's easy.
I don't find it easy - it's hard. I'll probably have to open a new window in something else, then remember where the old window was when I find what I'm looking for, than remember to have Copied something, and then how to Paste it into something else.

I'm used to doing this sort of thing around September - it's called a "Tax Return".
