Oh no !!  Hurl some effervescant Vit C at it Andy. If you catch it in the early stages it can sometimes knock it on the head. At the very least it can reduce the severity and length of the symptoms.

Here`s another Sniff for you, courtesy of the Moomins Smiley

Had a few mins to shop today but the greengrocer was out of parsnips!  Shocked So no roast parsnips for me tonight as I didn't have time to search further afield.

AND YOU, MR GAY PARSNIP, STOP GRINNING AT ME! NO, I DON'T WANT TO TAKE YOUR FREE COMPATIBILITY TEST!!! Angry

They had lots of straight parsnips in Sainsbury's today but I resisted the temptation, even though some of them were on special offer. Hope George was able to satisfy his craving.

Hmmm. Maybe this is why GG has been so quiet today. He`s either had to go Cold Parsnip because he can`t find any or, he is at this moment prone on his chaise longue smiling happily and speaking in strange tongues as a consequence of a parsnip OD.

Calling Agent Gussett! Urgent! Come in George! Step away from the parsnip!

Makes my £20 voucher for finding an earwig in their quiche seem rather paltry now!

What happened when you complained today, bbm?

I am assured by a doctor friend ( played the viola... I rest my case) that the only proven thing to slow down a cold is zinc taken with vitamin c... I do take it when I remember and I think it helps... worth a try!!

I bought (Embarrassed) two pots of JS carbonara sauce at the reduced price of, er, 5p each ... and they still applied the multi-buy 28p discount, thus paying me 18p to take them off their hands.

Well I had an orange earlier on and lots of spinach in the curry for my tea but I haven't got any zinc - presumably it must be in compound form? Getting quite sniffy now.  Sad

The latter since you kindly ask, Mort, although supine rather than prone in my case (we all approach the uncharted hazards of the chaise longue in our own way). No OD-ing either. Just a perfectly judged meal of very slightly crispy roast parsnips. Ravishingly delicious. I really do quite like having reached the age where it is possible to derive that amount of pleasure from a simple plate of root vegetables.
