Anty,

There's nothing that the Mods, or even the Administrators can do in the way of moving to a different server - that surely would be in the hands of those who provide this forum space. Hasn't the M&S board (also using the provider) been suffering in much the same way? We've had occasional bouts of this before - though far less frequently than the Beeb boards.

I just noticed this in my local newspaper. In the light of Richard's recent debacle over hospital parking I thought I'd post it. This is just the kind of appalling situation that ran through my mind when I read Richard's post. It's the third article down the page. If my link works ... Roll Eyes

Is anyone else having dreadful break-ups when using LA to listen to last night's TTN? It's not the usual buffering, because the clock just keeps on ticking steadily away. No, loads of gaps in the music right from the start, not even the theme tune or the presenter escapes.

Not TTN but trying to listen to Radio 4's Saturday Review and getting the same problem. Re-started and even get the cut outs at the same point. Maybe with that and the access problems here it's like the railway, engineering work on a bank holiday weekend ( I think the US has a holiday weekend too this week ? )

Thanks Mort. £3 an hour is extortionate. There must be other ways to stop commuters using the carpark.

I got "Row Breaks Out Over Cemetery's Pink Checkpoint Charlie" but I got so outraged over that I didn't dare go any further.

What really incensed me was that poor family who had just been bereaved then having to dash out to top up the parking fee. I wonder how many other people have been in that situation? It's a hospital for heavens sake, not a shopping mall! Come to think of it, I don't think shopping malls charge that much. They wouldn't get any customers <cynical emoticon>  As I said before, hospitals have a captive audience.

A similar situation happened to an ex-sister-in-law, I took my son and ex-wife to see ex SISL's husband(who was dying). The car park charges, well they were just as dear!!

I've had no central heating or hot water since last night, and in spite of my expensive maintenance contract British Gas can't send anyone out until tomorrow - and they did the annual service only last week! The lack of heating isn't so bad at this time of year, though it's pretty cold here, but I miss the hot water - or I did, until someone reminded me that I probably had an immersion heater somewhere. I found a large switch in the airing cupboard, and switched it on in great trepidation, because if I have ever used it before it's probably 25 years ago, but it seems to have worked Grin - and so far the house hasn't burnt down.

How spoilt we all are, to expect permanent hot water and heating at the flick of a switch.

That sounds like your fitter missed even buglered something, Mary. Hope you're staying warm, ready for those extra sequences in Les Illuminations tonight.
