..... (dressed in something citrus... rummages in fridge).

And what sort of citrus are these rummages in your fridge exactly, hh? Sound like rather untidy knobbly thick-skinned brownish fruits with an aroma of distilled muscovado.

Yes, well just like Delia has capers in her larder, I usually keep rummages in the fridge. Unfortunately I'm fresh out of rummages so I had to settle for limes.
Thankfully I found a bottle of wine as well...

Fishcakes tonight (defrosted from last week) with some beautiful greens (dressed in something citrus... rummages in fridge).
They are haddock fishcakes with capers and parsley mixed in. I'm putting them in the oven this time rather than on the hob. We'll see how they fair this time...

It worries me there is a pack of Andrex toilet paper next to harmonyharmony's fishcakes.

Did someone mention a stormy night?

That, unfortunately, is just the state of the flat at the moment. They were unpacked from my bag after shopping and are sitting on the table until they are needed. I should really find a home for them in the meantime but somehow there always seem to be more important things happening.

Why thank you. I think that they were the most successful fishcakes I've made for quite some time. It does look like an alarming amount of greenery as well...

Yeah, well, I'd leave most of that on the side of the dish.

 Shocked

Sacrilege! My mum reckons I'm a bit obsessed by eating greens and teases me when I come to stay. She talks about how she's had to send dad down to the allotment to dig up some more green vegetables because she has every other colour but.

You do have ketchup, don't you hh?  Tongue

Is that some kind of vegetable?

Actually I am feeling a bit peckish now that you mention it.
I'll spare the greens though until another day (you can come out from behind the sofa now Martle - if you bring one of the ducks, I've been dreaming of doing something wonderful with a breast (belonging to a duck I hasten to add) for a while now).
Oatcakes anyone?

Are we to supposed to assume that you consider the eating of greens to be akin to cannibalism, martle?  Roll Eyes

some deliciously mature cheddar with ridiculously addictive oatcakes Smiley

Talking of cheddar, this, recently discovered in my local deli, is the best cheddar I've ever had! If you see it, buy some!

Thanks for that Stuart! Those recommendations sound pretty impressive. Apparently there's a shop nearby that stocks it. Off I go with my shopping basket. A really good cheddar is a thing of joy and beauty<drool> There's too much mousetrap cheese on the shelves now Cry  Vegetarians please note, there is no animal rennet in this cheese!

Veggies, look away now! Sorry Sad Tonight it will be roast pork, probably with a head of garlic roasted with it to be pummelled into the gravy later. I grabbed some rather gorgeous Spring greens today which will also be making an appearance. If only I had some flageolated beans they would probably have bean Roll Eyes there instead. Now as to the pressing question of potatoes. Hmmm. Roast or new? I think roast might be pushing the cholesterol envelope a tad ...

Maybe you could just get some normal beans and give them a stir with this...
