Leftovers tonight.
A few potatoes with the lentil gravy and a couple of falafel balls. Will see what else is in the fridge...

Did an hh classic - break an egg into it and grate some cheese.

It turned out ok. Might be a bit hungry before too long though...

Today I are been mostly eating penne, mixed into home-grown yummy toms (quartered), extra virgin, black pepper, pine nuts, all topped w veggie "parmesan" and given a minute or 2 in the microwave.

Sliced slightly into my fingertip yesterday.  Amid the reflexive ow-ing I shook my hand back and forth, spattering blood all over the gaff.  (The resulting cuisine was almost certainly not 100% vegetarian).

Good times Smiley

Does your own blood count as being non-veggie? If so, I'll have to keep spitting next time I bite my tongue!

I bit my tongue today as well Sad

Vegetarianism refers to prepared foods I think rather than anything else.  In my search for answers to this, I came across the following:

"My wife inquired, and was told that a certain stripe of high-minded vegetarian eagerly prepares and devours placenta stew, the placenta being the only form of meat that does not involve the slaughter of some innocent animal."

Fascinating, eh?

And: sorry MJ!  I'll be sure to add disclaimers in future Wink

That isn't quite right of course. Vegetarians ought by the same token to be happy to eat spiders' legs and geckos' tails, both of which grow back if removed. Maybe the highest-minded of vegetarians do eat such things.

There is a difference, in that the placenta, at the point at which some people (usually mothers, I believe) would eat it, would be disposed of anyway.  Cutting off someone's leg is going to cause some immediate discomfort and injury to an animal usually.  Would more be like eating the molted exoskeletons of tarantulae, if you ask me.

From the Simpsons:

Lisa: "I am a strict vegan."

Young man: "That's nothing. I'm a level 5 vegetarian. I will not eat anything that casts a shadow."

My better half did once ask a professed vegan if she in that case permitted herself to swa... hm, no, better not finish that. (Don't know what the answer was either.)
