My better half did once ask a professed vegan if she in that case permitted herself to swa... hm, no, better not finish that. (Don't know what the answer was either.)
Oh, I hadn't thought about that.  I imagine it's okay.   Oh, thank you The Times

"presumably all women who wish to become pregnant use their partner’s animal products in order to achieve this. "

(The funniest vegan-related thing I've heard is the fact that bio-power (from animal waste) would technically be non-vegan electricity.)

Absolutely ruinous in calories is what I'm always told. And then there's the allergy to nuts.  Undecided

thank you The Times

And thank you Increpatio. It's not an issue I'd ever paid any attention to and it's wonderful to know there are people who ponder and pronounce upon such things. The spirit of the Church Fathers lives on.

er, if you know what I mean.

Just as long as we're not back on whether you can or can't eat beaver during Lent...

I've not got anything in the house that I want to eat at the moment so I've got to go to the shop to be inspired.
Some chance.

I bought some sausages in the end. Steak ones.
So it's going to be sausages, potato, spinach and courgette.
Not especially fancy but quite nice on a rather disgusting rainy day.
But I have to do some washing up first so I'll have to eat something to keep me going...

I've had a very rare non-veggie meal.  Sainsbury's were selling Taste the Difference King Prawns for half price, so I made a beautiful fragrant Thai red curry with jasmine rice.  It was really lovely and I've saved some for tomorrow. Little 'un had pizza mozzarella as another rare treat, followed by Smartie chocolate cake.

Well......it is holiday time....... Tongue

Why? All he's done is shown us a hungry beaver.

It would seem that my tasteful attempts to change the subject are failing miserably.

I'm finding it all a bit hard to swallow I'm afraid..... Tongue

Ahem. Well. I don't actually know what I'm going to eat this evening, I have work to finish and then an appointment in an hour and a half so I guess it's going to be something horribly quick.

Ahem. Right. Meanwhile back in the kitchen ... I think my meal tonight may count as a vegan one. Haricot beans, black eyes beans, onion, garlic, tomatoes left to putter away for a few hours. No detectable animal suffering or products on or in  the bean tins. Tasted fine anyway.

So the cats were quite happy about this, were they Mort? Were they lurking nearby with their noses twitching in the hope of partaking of the repast? Or were they sulking in corners, aware that there was to be zero feline temptation tonight?

Ah yes, I neglected to mention the feline psychological trauma. The outrage discontent, nay disgust at the 'food' on offer. Tails up, backs turned. I am sent to Coventry. Again. Sigh.
