Guess you won`t be adding borscht to your list of Soups I Must Make then, incs? Wink

I might try it in a few years, but, yeah; not for the moment.

Just the smell was enough to make me turn green

Clearly the young Martle always had his nose studiously stuck in a beetroot.

I like a decent goat

Like this one?

Can't say I really fancy warm beetroot either. I prefer it without all the vinegar that is traditionally applied to cooked beetroot. Raw grated is nice too but pretty messy to prepare.

While searching fruitlessly for an appropriate image, I found this. The mind boggles!
I also stumbled across some beetroot combinations that do not bear repeating here!!

Go figure.

but I seem to have grown into it now.

Mort, are you sure you're ok?

Since I cannot stand the oily red nasties, I can confirm that greeness has nothing to do with them. At all.

Martle, where on earth did you get those quotes from? They weren't in any of the original messages cited!

You've been overdoing the roots again, haven't you!

Mmmm, that sounds very fetching. It`s got some of my most favourite things in it.

Hastily scribbles it onto Food to Do list

I came back from my Muswelll Hill expedition today bearing a very handsome piece of Salt Beef from Sainsburys. The one I bought previously cooked up like a dream. Swoon. Now, do I cook it this evening as the wind starts to rise and the temperature drops, or do I save it until tomorrow?  I am also beset by a great longing for mashed potato. Gosh, what`s a girl to do?
