Thanks all. Went down to the council offices this morning with the aim of getting my bus pass. They were happy enough with my driving license and Council Tax statement as proof of identity, took my photograph, and then advised me I should get the bus pass "in the post, within two weeks"! Ah well, looks like the car will still get used for a while yet. The weather seems to be getting a bit brighter, so I might head off for the coast in a few minutes.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Missed birthdays.....Aitch hasn't been online for a few weeks but happy birthday for yesterday anyway.....Biroc now resides at M & S and I think had recognition of his birthday over there.
And belated happy birthday from me for those I haven't personally acknowledged recently; Anty, Don and Bryn.
( Blimey, May looks a bit thin for birthdays )
