Great news!  Really good you have a commitment / plan / structure to your days - and that even on day one it's all bringing unexpected pleasures!

Very best wishes for the rest of the week, and after that for the next few.  Remember, we're all here if you need a booster.

god, i should be the last person to offer any advice - so i won't, but structure, if you can bring yourself to have some, is critical.

Hi increpatio,

That is really wonderful news, after you seemed to have been feeling at a real low before. And especially that you're enjoying the work! Do it all in stages, and you'll surely get back into the swing. And as tommo says, we're here if you want to share any other types of feelings, worries (or positive feelings).

Best,
Ian

There you go: it's almost more like stepping onto an escalator than the first tread of the stairs, is'nt it? Just don't rush at it so fast that you wear yourself out: better to end while you're still in the mood for more rather than push yourself too hard in the first few days. It's like starting at a gym: if you overdo it too soon you undo the good work. But it's great to see the change in just one day.

Look forward to hearing of further progress....

increpatio,
A journey starts with a small step. If you begin little by little it will grow like a snow ball. You are doing well now!!!

I actually became better with age. While in college I did not want to practice and postponded everything. Now I like to get everything ready in advance (I have aversion to risk). This is not good too.

I don't know what made me more ambitious in older age. I nearly drove myself to the ground (wanted to play solo recital). Now I decided to have easier life and play only in ensembles.

My Lord,
I am much more optimistic now. I don't think this is a solution. People will find a way to manage our earth better and better.

Oh; hey t-p! Thanks for the kind words.

I'm doing okay today.  Almost a full day's work done (had to give a 2-hour tutorial smack-bang in the middle, so lost about an hour).  Had its Frustrations, but I made sure to do some stuff that I could be GUARANTEED satisfaction from Wink

Anyway; feeling a little bit better. Off to the cinema now.

And who knows? perhaps you will be given a chance to play a solo performance? Life often seems like "Alice's Adventures Through the Looking-Glass"; to get to where you want to be you have to go in many different directions, and sometimes the complete opposite.
