One of my treasured LPs.

I could never understand the relevance of a picture of a pretty cottage by the roadside in Dorset to the music, but Decca Eclipse records did have some beautiful photos on their covers.

Flay,

The Decca Eclipse LP's did feature beautiful villages and countryside photos. If you  turn over the LP sleeve and look at the small print near the bottom you will see that Decca had some deal with the National Trust and encouraged people to join by including the address to write to.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Just found this one which I own but haven't listened to for over 25 years. I loved it as a teenager. As soon as I saw that picture on the computer screen I heard Salli Terri's wonderful voice in my head. By coincidence I heard one of the flute solos on it being played in a youth music festival today (Sicilienne - Gabriel Fauré) but I'd forgotten that when I googled for this record just now...must have been a subconscious memory which made me search for it.

Help! How do I shrink it???

MJ, no worries if you're posting a link to another place. The problem arises when you upload to this site. So yours is fine!

Hi,
For a tidier page, in the first bracket you put the width desired e.g. 'img width=500' and you get this:

Thanks John.  Kiss It does look better slightly smaller! Does anyone else know this LP? It was recorded (or released?) in 1958 - before I was born so my copy must really belong to my dad or perhaps it was my grandma's.

I like this because it does what it says on the tin. Five pieces by Schoenberg, five pieces by Webern and... er... oh.

Loved the album and the sleeve - Dylan looked so cool to my young impressionable eyes!
