(I think it's cheating if it comes straight from 'BizarreRecords.com')

There are some unique recordings by this band.

Their name relates to their hair, incidentally.

The old cover for the LP of Cecil taylor's Silent Tongues:

Very serene and innocent looking. Then you listen to the record..

Long time since I saw that one, autoharp. I don't really remember what it sounds like (never owned a copy myself)

Wonderful performances which, thanks to Ms Lenz's recommendation a little while back, finally broke down my 'Brahms isn't really for me' psychological barrier.

Does anyone happen to know what the painting is? I'm rather taken with it (although it doesn't reproduce terribly well here). I've scoured the CD case and the insert several times but can't find any reference at all as to what it is or who painted it.

MDG are usually pretty good at providing credits, George. Have you tried looking among the Production, Recording, etc. credits, usually around page 3 of the booklet. For instance, in the booklet for Volume 1 of their Satie Piano Music series, credit for the "Cover" comes just above the Copyrightnotice for the text of the booklet, in the form:

"Cover: Auguste Chabaud: Der Winter 1909".
