Long time since I saw that one, autoharp. I don't really remember what it sounds like (never owned a copy myself)

Excellent choices, RB.  I'm growing more and more fond of that Xenakis recording w/ every listen, and the Dolphy's an old favorite (I don't suppose I've listened to it in about 8 yrs? .... Perhaps tonight's the night to pull it off the shelf.)

I couldn't really see well enough to know what the other two were.  Weird pixelation on my screen.  Could you post details?

Seconded, or thirded. Another recent Veronika-inspired purchase which has had my hair standing on end many times in recent months including this very moment in fact. (Since I am wearing headphones this can have disastrous effects; must remember to comb hair before going out to tame inverse orthogonal Mohican).

Similarly (including VL-recommended), this 3CD set from the same stable of the complete percussion works, Steve Schick etc. Wonderful stuff which I am in the process of exploring.

Aaron, I've made the previous set twice as big so I hope you can see them properly now.

Can't find one of booklet spread, with the fires, so the front will have to do.

I like this recording very much. It is done on an organ (small one) and cello sounds very sweet. It is violoncello piccolo. I never even heard that there is an instrument like that.
I used to listen a lot to this recording.
There are many problems with playing these sonatas. If it is played with the harpsicholrd than the balance is not good. If it is played with the piano, then it is not authentic.

This CD is tastefully done.

Well, since I can't find the Glenn Gould/Stokowski/Beethoven cover I want, here's:

Thank you so much for posting this, autoharp! Now I finally know what the name of this composer is! I heard his music years ago on Belgian radio and I've always remembered that British composer who composed a huge amount of piano sonatas. I only forgot his name. Now I know it. Thank you! Smiley

A great pleasure, Pim. There are 153 dating from 1956 to the present. A good friend and a near neighbour.
