Who? Ivan Wyschnegradsky
Well done h-h.
I'd not heard of him before stumbling on the photo.
And the keyboard?

Ivan Wyschnegradsky!
Fascinating composer, well worth checking out. There's a great disc of his quartets by the Ardittis, and another I have somewhere of various of his microtonal works.

I never heard the name of Vishnegradsky. It was very interesting article about him and pictures. Thank you very much, John W, for finding him.

For anyone interested in micro-tonal music, please consult the website of the Huygens-Fokker Institute: http://www.xs4all.nl/~huygensf/english/index.html

Vishnegradsky's a bit of an unsung hero, I suspect, even though quite a bit of what I've heard is unrelievedly doomy. But his music seems to have far more going for it than does that of Haba. There's obviously a supporting theoretical approach to his microtonal music, but I've never seen a description of it in English. Has anyone else ?

No. Wrong continent. Charles Ives in the middle?
No but you are warmer and on the right continent lou harrison in the middle?
No but a lot warmer (the two of them have a lot in common) and on the right side of the right continent.

It does look like Harry Patch. Who is he? It seems he worked in theater.

To clarify, the 'what' is a piece. There is a clue but I won't add it until later tonight (assuming it's still unsolved by then). Am waiting for the Aubergine to turn up and solve it in an instant.
