George, Yes!
22. Philip Ledger - Correct
OK, mainly a choir master but he has conducted the ECO and other orchestras.
I've got one more set of 5 conductors that I had put together for this week so I'll post them up in a little while.

In the style of John's conductors, can anyone name the following composers? Click on any of the pictures to see it in its full glory. 1. 2. 3. Obviously there are two composers here. 4. 5.

Well he's been hard at work on his most famous work. You could say he's dead tired.

3 are Dufay and Binchois ( courtesy of Wikipedia, having a hunch that you might have gone for Dufay after reading another thread )
1 could be LvB in one of the less common images of him ? Thought the hairstyle of 4 was Lisztian and could 5 be a young Monteverdi ?
Looked up various guesses at 20th century composers for 2 but no luck.

Yup. A bit of a give away to include Dufay... Not LvB, but this fellow could have been imitating his style. 4 is not at all Lisztian (not unless he was significantly before his time). 5 is not a young Monteverdi.

Number 1 is Hummel
] He is! Is No 2 a young Alexander Goehr?
It is! Well done so far. I think that number five might be a real stumbling block. Would it help to know his nationality?
