Nationality would help for number 5, know it's not Byrd or Tallis and didn't look much like any image of Robert Carver I could find !

He's from the Valleys and he was born a few years before Carver died.
Just found out that Carver wrote a L'homme armé mass... You learn something new everyday...

Weird - the clothes and hair don't go with the score or instrument...

Came as a bit of a surprise to me too. So, just someone who's dead tired to go ?
Yes. It's funny that you mentioned Whistler's mother earlier on. A shame that he's lying down though. If he looked like Whistler's mother standing up, it might give you a bit of a clue as to the work that finished him off.

Lully was conducting a Te Deum when he contracted gangrene. No connections to mothers standing at all (oops!).

Yes. I'm assuming that it's more an artist's impression of Pergolesi rather than a life (or near-death) study. 1. Hummel 2. Sandy Goehr 3. Dufay and Binchois 4. Pergolesi (or an impression thereof) 5. John Bull

Six more composers to identify (all active in the 20th century this time). Click on any of the pictures to see it in its full glory. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

Number ten woman-composer was celebrated on radio 3. She is a Russian composer, but what is her name? I thought no 10 is Elgar, but it is not right. elgar has bushier moustache. It must be Faure.
