Not Bernstein pw. See how young Karajan is.
IGI is correct with 11. Agnes Baltsa and Jose Carreras
that slight beard makes him look older. There is another, colour, photo of them I'll dig out (which chopped off half of Karajan), they worked on Carmen.

And a super recording it is, although I could have done without the recits spoken by actors instead of the singers themselves.

Spot on George, a young Glenn Gould in 1957, I had no idea they had recorded (Beethoven No 3) but it's a special first (I think) release this month by Sony 7. Christa Ludwig 8. Anne-Sophie Mutter and Antonio Meneses 9. Lazar Berman 10. Glenn Gould 11. Agnes Baltsa and Jose Carreras 12. Elizabeth Schwarzkopf A special Centenary page has been added to British Karajan site: http://www.karajan.co.uk/centenary.html

This reminds me I have a VHS of Baltsa/Carreras Carmen, but conducted by James Levine at the Met. Can't remember when I last watched it, last century!
