We have it so dry here. I am praying for rain. I am worried trees will die. It is too hot. Today I put air condition on in the car. They promise rain on Saturday, but will it come and will it be too late?

Being bored with the cricket, I began flicking through the tv channels. Alighted on Challenge TV which was showing an edition of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire from who knows when. The contestant was doing well, he had hit the £125,000 question which was "Glenn Gould was a virtuoso on which instrument, piano, trumpet, guitar or flute ?" The contestant did not know and so took the ask the audience option. 43% answered trumpet, their top answer. Contestant did not trust them and so went for fifty / fifty. Trumpet was jettisoned, leaving piano and flute as possibilities. More of the audience had voted for flute than piano, so contestant took a chance on that for the answer and lost £32,000.
Fame is a strange thing isn't it. Posters on here would consider Glenn Gould to be an extremely well known name but in the wider scheme of things it doesn't register at all.
t-p, your trees will be ok, you may just have to suffer a few brown leaves later in the summer.

Glenn Gould, yes, I've heard of him. Wasn't he in that film?

Sure it was that one? Wasn't it 32 short films about Springfield or something?

Ollie, what happend to your avatar?
I think everybody has to know Gould. I don't know many things, but I know Gould. But evidently people at large never heard of him.
My favourite avatars are John W (especially the dog that listens to the radio). Tonybob has a funny avatar. I hope he doesn't change it. Martle of course always has funny avatar. I like all avatar. I like Bass clef, I like BobbyZ dog, and I like Millie's dog and I like soundwave's cat and I like Morticia, I like Jane' s cat. We are lucky to have avatars.
I only know movies about Gould.

I changed my postage stamp in honour of this evening's gathering since I can't be there. It's now a picture of my chalumeau surrounded by chip packets and beer bottles, taken at the last r3ok get-together. Don't you like it? I'm looking for a more interesting one anyway.

Don't change it, Olllie. I like it very much. It is very colorful and artistic. It is almost Kandinsky. I could not see chalumeau at first. I thought you mean you only eat chips (which is not very healthy).

Oh, I'll keep it then. I hardly ever eat chips, t-p. In fact I think the previous r3ok gathering was the last time I did. The English call the thin cold ones in the plastic packets crisps. I don't really like that word - the 'sps' at the end sounds silly.

No one says good night here any more... I suppose it's because there's no pumpkin time any more. Still, it used to be a nice little ritual. Night all...

How come nobody likes my avatar? (And, for the record, 32 Short Films About Springfield ... best Simpsons episode ever, though it actually has nothing to do w/ the François Girard film and is actually a take-off on Pulp Fiction.)

Sorry, Ollie. I lost my maners. I did not think you would care. Mr TP is very strict and demanding (may be grumpy) and I have to scatter quickly sometimes, though it is not en excuse. I could always say good night. I just did not care you woud notice. aaron cassidy avatar is interesting and amuses me. I don't know what it is. I think is it is a scetch to something. There is so much talent here, it is scary.

Ollie, Did you forgive me for not saying good night last night? I am truly sorry. I am so sorry that I can not believe it. Mr TP complains that I spend more time with computer than with him. I seems to do many things wrong lately. I give lift to friends but not TP, or my student is not happy I cancel the lesson, etc, etc, etc. I am fussy today.
