Off to work. Hi ho and all that. Time to forge a timetable in the black heart of hell. Or the admin office, weather permitting. hh, have you turned into Derek Jarman circa 1988??? This sounds an awful lot like the kind of thing you find in his diaries ...
Hang on, let me check...

I did have, sort of, marty: but they really are all over the place, and some where you'd not expect them - Ned Sherrin was in the Opera House, for example....

Somebody moved all the furniture. I'm not complaining though. At least I won't keep tripping over Humph (God rest his soul. I hope he's showing the angels how to swing it and awarding extra points for working in "Ol' Man River" as a countermelody to "Sleepers, awake!") when I'm trying to get to the Off-Topic Replies thread.

Gosh, the Arrivals Room has been busy today! Welcome, List_Hall. Your name is familiar. Have you travelled from the BBC R3 board?
It has. And some old friends returning. It's almost like a wormhole has aligned with our space-time dimension. Hang on, let me check...
No. It's ok.

Just found this. Not sure about Air Mail Music (no notes and no clear indication of the provenance of the recordings). But then again they do issue CDs of music that just wouldn't reach a wide circulation otherwise. Might download this later after I've finished getting the latest dhrupad recording. Well I've enjoyed this so far, but what's this? I recognise that leitmotif... This track sounds rather familiar. Is it? Can it be? I think it is! It's the final song from Berio's Folksongs isn't it? It's called 'Adandali' here.

MJ - just wait until the Maddison.....
Actually, did you see the Keirin? That's as mad as a bag of cats (or to update that phrase as I read on a website earlier, as mad as a bag of syphilitic badgers)
Tommo
I've seen the Keirin, it was quite obvious what was going on, everyone just cycled round after a moped - whereas in the Madison (which I've just watched) - what on earth was happening? Argentina won but I've no idea how

I haven't watched all that many Olympic events - though I have enjoyed many of those I have seen.

I heard today that the term 'Madison' was named after Madison Square Garden in New York, where the event originated. Absolutely chaos to watch and quite maddening in that the GB team only once attempted to 'lap' the rest of the field, which is a key strategy for winning the race. In fairness, Bradley Wiggins was exhausted after his efforts in other events, but it did mean that his partner has the dubious honour of being the only GB cyclist to come away from the Games without a medal.

What do "Keirin" and "Madison" mean?
I always thought the Madison was a 50s/60s dance: 1. Step left forward 2. Place right beside left (no weight) and clap 3. Step back on right 4. Move left foot back and across the right 5. Move left foot to the left 6. Move left foot back and across the right

You do that on a bicycle?

Good thing about taking up running? Running dates. "Why not go for a run in the park?" he say, "Sounds like a plan" I say. Chance of fun is quite high, chance of feel-good is quite high. Chance of wholesome, feel-good sex occuring is, I'd estimate, reasonably high as well. Darn, am I going to have to invest in fancier running couture for this?

No, I believe that's the ritual mating dance of the blue-billed Wakazaki duck, Andy.

In my time they would go meet and go to a coffee house.

I've been up since 5.30. And I'm now leaving for Wales, again. I see the early birds are about. Yes, I mean you, Mort, t-p and the soon-to-be-train-catching PW.
