Well, I never.

This morning the shoe rack was empty of shoes.

So I went about looking for shoes of all sizes, thinking they must have been methodically mis-placed. Mama's shoes, TF's shoes, and the shoes of Okazaki.

Well, they were in the dishwasher, don't you know. A very thoughtful gesture.

You have a shoe rack? Huh Shocked

So what do you trip over when you get up and walk across the bedroom in the morning?

I would have thought TF would need three shoe racks, what with the shoes in his house being (I hope, having seen his feet) of three radically different sizes.

Well, now I have an idea: the current shoe rack is for Okz, the upper rack of the dishwasher is for Mama, and the lower rack of the dishwasher is for Papa.

Dishes will be washed in the sink.

Saves us buying two more shoe racks.

I don't have a dishwasher.

Actually, I haven't had any hot water for 2 weeks. This requires ingenuity with kettles and Fairy liquid.

I heard today that the term 'Madison' was named after Madison Square Garden in New York, where the event originated. Absolutely chaos to watch and quite maddening in that the GB team only once attempted to 'lap' the rest of the field, which is a key strategy for winning the race. In fairness, Bradley Wiggins was exhausted after his efforts in other events, but it did mean that his partner has the dubious honour of being the only GB cyclist to come away from the Games without a medal.

Wiggins partner in this event was Mark Cavendish though, who won four stages in the Tour de France, so I don't think he will be too upset about missing out on the medal fest.

My shoes are lined up in a row by my front door.
I really want to buy more but I'm being stern with myself (and besides I'd run out of room by my door fairly quickly).
We'll see what my bank balance looks like after pay day.
And after I've decided what I'm doing about holidays this year.
