As already mentioned on the meeting thread, I'd really intended to be there: a sudden, very short-notice summons to foreign climes messed up my plans completely, since I returned only last night.

Now I'll have to await another Barrett/Sudden collaboration...

Thanks, xyzzzz and George, for your kind words, and thanks to A, Baz, Biroc, George, Ian, jennyhorn, Tim, time_is_now and anyone I might have missed for coming along, and very sorry Ron and Mort couldn't make it. And thanks Ollie (and indeed everyone else who took part, if they're reading this) for being a divine entity. Unfortunately my post-concert fraternising was severely severed by my having to get all my gear out of the hall and back to E17 before getting up at 5 this morning to go to Stansted. It may be of interest that the concert will, I hear, be broadcast on the wireless in the autumn in "Hear and Now".

I hope some of us will run into each other at Jonathan Powell's recital next week, and/or this duo by two of last night's artists:

Ute Wassermann and Aleks Kolkowski CD Launch Concert
Saturday 23nd JUNE,  7pm: Interlace

Ute Wassermann (Berlin/London) - vocals, bird calls

Aleks Kolkowski (London) - stroh viola, stroh cello, lame sonore (fr. musical saw)

Performing duo improvisations to celebrate the release of their
debut recording Murmelndes Lüftchen on Seven Things

Also on the programme:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonathan Chen (Chicago) - violin, stroh violin, electronics & projections

- New works for solo violin + video

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ An Edison phonograph wax cylinder interlude by Recording Angels
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday 23nd JUNE,  7pm sharp! (suggested donation £5)
The Council Chamber,
Deptford Town Hall
New Cross Road, SE14 (opp. Iceland)

Nearest Station: New Cross Gate

Hello all -

Wanted to break my silence briefly to say thanks (also on behalf of occasional lurker Mark K) to all who were there on Saturday in person and/or in spirit.

Apropos of which, you may have noticed that I don't appear quite as much here nowadays as I used to - I got out of the swing of it while I was in Australia recently and realised that, fun as it's all been, the board had been taking up more time than I could afford to spend, especially since it's no longer quite the same place it used to be. I do still lurk around a bit though and the yahoo address is still active so I remain readily contactable.

Thank you, Ollie, and well done (again). We'll miss you on here, but you're right, it does have a habit of eating up time which one doesn't always have to spare Undecided

I made it back in one piece, by the way. Mark, if you are lurking: it took me 16 minutes (to your 12)!

This isn't completely relevant here but talking of CDs, I seem to have a spare copy of ELISION's wonderful first Barrett CD negatives, if any budding Barrett fans would like it ...

An address will do the trick.
