One of the problems you may be having (I had the same...) was that they don't know where the speakers will be, so, while the website claims you can book a specific seat, you actually can't. Hence the need to phone them up (and they were very nice on t' blower) and get an unreserved seat...which, the fella on the phone tells me will, in a month or so, be turned into an allocated seat. Yes. Bonkers.

I think short Scottish men get first crack at it.

When, oh when is Prometeo going to be produced in the USA?   Angry   Boston, preferably...

Nae...which was somewhat worrying...claimed not to really know what was going on, but that if I phoned up in "around a month", they "might" be able to tell me where I'd be sitting...hmm  Angry

Given that I had the last two tickets for the Friday I'll probably be put in the toilet. At least I might run into George there.

That's scary. I had in fact bagged my ticket for the Friday some time ago but how on earth did anyone know that?!

(Oh, I see. But it was Roslynmuse and Martle wot started it. I just followed them in afterwards and was led astray.)

Presumably, since the RFH are currently selling fewer tickets than the hall's normal capacity, "seats will be allocated in about a month's time" means allocated to be sat in rather than allocated to a particular person. Maybe a few more seats will become available when the configuration of the hall and performers has been sorted out?

Erm, I just booked online and there were scores of tickets available for both nights. Maybe they're not in the best place, but if they're in the hall that's fine by me!

They must indeed either have sorted out some more seating or had rather a lot of returns. When I booked, a few weeks ago, all the Friday tickets were gone, and only a few remained for Saturday.

Er, not much to say really. Playing insensitive and bangy. Socks bright red and far too uncovered by trouser.

The Thibaudet socks at this evening's Turangalila-Symphony were, to my great disappointment after the big build up, sloe-black. Why was London deprived of what was so generously displayed in Sydney?  Angry

Perhaps the red ones clashed with Cynthia Millar's frock? In any case, to do true justice to the music of a synaesthete, one would need socks which constantly change colour.

I did enjoy the performance enormously, especially being able to hear the ondes martenot more clearly than on the Previn recording I have. There were some wonderfully rude low frequency noises from it in the first movement.
