The only thing I know Tony Palmer for is his recent Malcolm Arnold documentary. And while that was a fascinating and well-produced film, it basically recycled -- uncredited -- bleeding chunks of Kriss Russman's 1991 Omnibus film.

In the absence of other evidence, that track record leads me to assume that Palmer is probably telling porkies in this rather bizarre episode Undecided

Agreed, surely this is more risible, for appearing in an article on the Observer website, than the obviously spoofed letter.
