Welcome Daniel! Sounds as if you could provide a few thigh-slapping moments yourself, so do post as and when.  Grin

Hear, hear, Martle!!

Dive in Daniel, more thigh slapping moments and irreverence are always welcome.  Kiss That`s a non-sarcastic one, by the way  Grin

Can I add my voice to those expressing thanks for your work.

Those responsible for the current messageboards have, in attempting to gerrymander the discussions, sounded its death knell as far as I am concerned. I've never felt less motivated to read, let alone contribute to the boards as I do now.

Hi Stevo,

The good news is that you'll find it close to 'business as usual' over here. It's very good to see you again...

Michael

I have a sneaking feeling that I may not have said a BIG  thank you to you for this life raft. I think you can already see how valued it is, and how necessary.  Bless this raft and all who sail in her! Thank you everso Michael. Grin

Indeed many thanks Michael, I'm very much enjoying this new board and don't feel at all inclined to go back to the old one now.

Yes :: Thanks ::

Great to have a place to talk more freely about music. !

A welcome and pleasant alternative to the "say-the-RWright-thing-only" place which masquerades as a genuine public message-board.

Cheers.

While I join in thanking Michael for the work he has done (and agree that in terms of features this board is hands down better - indeed, I would say it has that bit too many - I don't care much for avatars, moving text and the like, though clearly I'm in a minority), I do have a concern. Namely the ability to attract new people - someone will (even under the new regime, much more easily chance across the official boards, and while some have been here, or rather, there forever, some of the contributors I most enjoy readings are more recent arrivals).

regards, Tam

p.s. as far what Oliver says about the 'nice' people - they haven't quite all arrived (and there are one or two fine persons notable in the absence from this place)

Bravo to Michael from me too!  What an utter travesty the new "official" R3 boards are Sad

'Most', I did indeed say. There's certainly work to do. I think in the change I've made to my nickname there I've made it pretty clear!

I had been worried as well about our powers of attraction - but I must say that the number of new posters who have come out of the shadows here, some of them not regular posters at CMR3, has cheered me up no end. I admit I do cherish the dream that word of mouth might bring some people here who wouldn't necessarily have bothered posting at the R3 board in any case because they don't really have anything to do with R3.

Too true, Oliver, you certainly did say most. I completely agree, though that its nice to see some non-regulars coming out of the shadows here.

To what have you changed your name over there - I'm terrible at following these thing!
