I don't think I've ever in my life used the word "date" in reference to any event I have ever attended......

I find it slightly cringeworthy I have to admit.

Slightly??

I wouldn't use it even as a joke. Ugh.

Gosh! Thank you all.

Wiki, of course, thank you, Martle. Why didn't I think of that as the obvious first port of call? But, Jeesh! It sounds absolutely terrifying. I think I'll clamber back up on to the shelf. I can do less damage up there.

Oooh. Just seen Martle's second post. Mmmm. Something forbidden and naughty, eh? .....

Ooof. I have known this disappointment before.

But what are the criteria that distinguish a date from a not-date? Do both (or possibly all) parties have to agree in advance on whether something is a date or not? I haven't needed to know about any of this for the past thirty five years or so and feel in need of a brief refresher course.  Undecided

Quite so.  Almost as bad as "cute".

Go on Milly, do it, do it!

Ok I did but I'm in premod because I had to renew my account due to a computer blip.  It'll turn up sometime no doubt.  Roll Eyes

Milly, if you replied in Hindi will it get through the Moderation system? I seem to recall that Aunty doesn't like languages she can't understand. Even some of Anna's Welsh vocabulary used to get clobbered!

Edit. Forget that Milly, you got through. I've just had a look.

Not a fan of the term "date", but I do find they happen now and again.

I've just asked nicedoc how he is in Hindi.  I don't know whether it will escape the mods - but he didn't reply to my greeting yesterday.

However, he's only "interested" in fair-coloured women of course.... Grin

Oh what fun!

I'm obviously not his type!  Grin (He may not be Indian either!)

I know - you have a try Ruby!  Be a posh blonde and see how you get on.  Grin

Do I have to look up bunnyboiler on google, or is someone here wishing to tell me the meaning thereof?

EDIT: oh, all right. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/bunny-boiler.html
