Adblock plus is a great success. Thanks to OS and Baz for their techie assistance. It's another small step for mankind.
I must politely decline your thanks - I hadn't thought of installing it until I read about it here.

Hmm. Something isn't working here. I have Adblock happily sitting on the right hand side of my screen and it seemed to work the other day as far kicking tekhoi out. But now it's back again and I'm wading through treacle Angry  I've been through the Adblock screen and highlighted tekhoi entries, then clicked ok(assuming they would then go forever). Obviously not. What am I doing wrong?

Mort - in the Tools menu, click on Adblock Plus, and in the window that opens click on "Add filter". Then in the box type www.tekhoi.com* (including the * sign), then click Apply, then click OK.

That should stop tekhoi EVER AGAIN getting through to your PC (at least while you are using Firefox).

Baz, I've just tried that, but I only get Adblock, not Adblock plus. I tried Add ons just in case, but nowt. I loaded Fireox3 the other week. Surely that can't be buglering things up Huh

Sounds like you don't have Adblock Plus, or that you've got an older version of it (not compatible with Firefox 3). Try downloading it again.

Adblock Plus is def what you need Mort, Adblock is the old version of it.

Look at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Good! Now you need to do the same (if you haven't already done it) with www.google-syndication*.

If ever you want to block things that appear on the screen, just right-click them and scroll down to Adblock Image... - job done, and you'll never see them again!

right click = control-click for Mac users.
