To stupendous Claire Martin-(blood-pressure ahoy) and Kurt Elling gig, unsettled by Igor and his Electric Accordion , he of the RKO horror mugshot, expounding on orkest mahahatmacoat and others of the Duran faction. I have been heartened by the modernisms on the wireless of late but assumed to be smuggled in by the underground. Is this a
case of beingprimed by some acolyte or are the tectonic plates shifting just a fraction?

Thanks for the enlightenment, King K. At one point Claire said '..That's enough Jack' in their last encounter  (full circs of this unclear). Massirik has a bit of healthy cynicism, but paradoxically he seems
infatuated with the trendiness of 'jazz' pro tem-occupational hazard for ye journos I spose. Claire grroving is my kind of eloquence_ I have been agog since I saw her quell the cloven hooves of a school party in Berkshire with RR Bennett esq, and I am miffed that I missed  doing some breathing exercises with her
at the Barbecue centre the other week.

Massarik's occupational hazards don't stem from being a journo, they stem from being a frustrated player-who-didn't-make-it. Much worse case, if you ask me!

The dislike of Jack M. amongst jazzers is his comment on R3 re Coltrane which was "Torrents of Hate"

King Kenny and The Cormorants have it chapter and verse.  (or did)

Ken, how long did it take you to put those Martin/Massarik mashups together man?  Your time would surely have been better spent down the pub.

*Kennytone does this junk at work, man.

I was gnawing at the rutabagas and mesmerised by Claire's breathing exercises when I wrote this.
What's hopeful I think is that Serious have by putting up with Igor's mugshot in the brochure a stake in
a fest/ r3 policy.

nb Kenny Wheeler and a quartet at the Lord Rookwood, leyton area I think, tommorrow night-fiver on the door!

That is indeed an awesome video; I found it there about 12 months ago.
Quite apart from the impassioned musicality of it, it shows you wouldn't want to mess with the formidable NS   Wink
