I know it is a long way off, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a meet up near to Christmas.

I know there are various meets ups going on regularly, but these are mostly isolated to people who live within easily travel able distance of London.  By setting a long date I wonder if we could get many board members who live miles from London to come to do their Christmas shopping, and stay for a meet.

What do you think?

We might even get John W down for a few half shandies.  Cool

Eh, that would mean the missus coming as well  Roll Eyes I suppose I could drop her off at Oxford St while we meet up in a pub....... and I'd drink myself silly thinking what the missus was spending in Oxford St  Shocked

But, yes, meet ups are always a possibility for me, I'll keep an eye on the meet-up threads.

Good idea, SFAIAC - I've never been to the Wigmore Hall.

About the time I found myself locked in a room at the stadium at 6.30am with 6 bagpipers warming up, there was a pub nearby in Wembley which staged its Christmas event in July, which seemed like a good idea at the time and still might.

It's doubtful for me, as I have a show on directly over that period ("our" Christmas comes a week later on Jan 7th, so we're still in the run-up to it over the 25th-26th of Dec).

Suits me... I'm pretty good at pub recommendations around London Bridge, so let me know if any further information is required.  As well as the George there's the Market Porter, the Wheatsheaf, the Barrowboy and Banker, the Royal Oak, and the rather marvellous Brew Wharf next door to Vinopolis.

Could we set a date first?  I don't really care where it is I just need to know if I'd be able to get there.  It would be great and I could do some Christmas shopping.  Smiley

Well, if it's Wigmore Hall......
I am going to a recital by The Divine Thomas on 15 December - we could meet beforehand if anyone else is going.....
