Very welcome, jennyhorn, especially as I seem to remember that you were once very complementary about something I posted in the other place !

Regarding the gong and Spike Milligan, I was talking to someone last night who knew an organist whose party trick was to draw a series of holes on his arm and then blow into each one, making a raspberry noise and playing a tune. He was careful to ascribe the same note to each hole. Spike Milligan got to hear of this and rang him up with a view to making a sketch out of it on television. It never came to pass, though.

Yes A, I'll be there. Have to be near Bond St until about 7.45 but will shoot down the Jubilee line as fast as now-time will carry me Smiley

rather like James Blades mark 2 eh ollie ?

Well I don't actually get to bang it with a mallet. I get to scrape it (with a soap dish, various plastic containers including a little one which once held earplugs (ironic that, it makes quite a horrible screech), a CD, a credit card, a glass and a couple of different cardboard boxes ranging in size from a matchbox up), bang a chain against it, bang and scrape it with a glass bowl, bang it with my fist, kick it, whisper into it while scraping it with a toilet roll tube, hold a monochord against it which I then bow and pluck, move a microphone around its surface and make pig noises into it.

It's rather fun.  Grin

Ahem. Sorry to be a tad practical here, but is there some kind of `Meet you underneath the clock`. spot? I know what some of you look like (thanks A Grin) but .....  If I march up to some unknown male, insisting he is Autoharp and claiming my free plastic daffodil, well, it could all  be   tad awkward.  Embarrassed Roll Eyes
