Crumbs! This incident appears to pre-empt the age-old dilemma facing biscuit eaters: to dunk or not to dunk?

My dog would be in heaven if he saw that lot!  I don't take him on the beach because there's always something washed up that he considers to be edible - but chocolate biscuits!!!!! (He wouldn't care if they were soggy  Roll Eyes)

Of course it isn't funny that the poor lady was injured, it's just the get-away of the "hit and run" vehicle being less than 8 m.p.h. that's amused me... Grin

Ukraine's Ministry of Food Production & Hygiene has licenced the sale of oak-barrel matured (ie dark-coloured) vodka. Nothing newsworthy in that, you might think...  except that the bottles are in the shape of, errr, a "thingy" Wink

(Sorry, I haven't got an English-language ref for this story)

An attempt to dissuade "chugging" perhaps?

Universal Music are looking for monks:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7235313.stm

Maybe someone should tell them that, if they look in the archives of, er, Archiv Produktion, they'll find a whole series of recordings devoted to different plainchant traditions?

Do you think Universal Music really care about the niceties of the arguments about Solesmes chant, Opi?  Perhaps we could put in a call to Father Larry Duff?  I'm sure he'd be able to settle that matter.

Back to the humorous news, I challenge anyone to best this remark from Jacqui Smith, earlier today:

“[Gordon Brown] combines the best of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.”

Oh, my.

Oh, my.

I didn't know that Gordon Brown was a black woman.

In practiced this may mean that Diane Abbott spends much of the time sitting on him, which would perhaps improve the decision-making process.

What struck me most about her remark was why she'd compared him to the Democratic candidates?  Sad

A 70-million-year-old fossil of a giant frog has been unearthed in Madagascar by a team of UK and US scientists.

The creature would have been the size of a "squashed beach ball" and weighed about 4kg (9lb), the researchers said.

They added that the fossil, nicknamed Beelzebufo or "frog from hell", was "strikingly different" from present-day frogs found on the island nation.
