Glyndebourne Garden Shed

We regret to announce that due to lack of equipment and new health and safety regulations, in tonight's performance of Britten's Paul Foot-Sore, the part of Johnny Water-Passer will now be sung off-stage, by Bryn Tearful.

We also regret to announce that the Glyndebourne Touring Sing-Song will now replace most of their venues with performances on National Express coaches.

King regards

I wonder if the offstage rendition will be comodious?  Tommo

St Michael's Church, Dalston

The Symphonic Orchestra of Registered Tradesmen of the Olympic Village (S.O.R.T.O.V.) wish to announce some unavoidable changes to their forthcoming Sibelius festival.

Unfortunately, the performance of En Saga will now be for the over-50s only. However the Nightride and Sunrise will be reinstated, having been made economically feasible by Lemminkäïnen's Oystercard, considerably better value than a return. Since our new drinking restrictions are now in place, please ensure that you are one under the eight at all times.

However, our performances of The Duck of Tuonela and Tapioca will go ahead as planned.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

The London Cultural Olympics 2012

Owing to a "small" overspend on the facilities for the Games themselves, the budget for the Cultural Olympics has been readjusted so that the full programme can still go ahead, albeit with slightly reduced resources.

L van Beethoven: Partita for Solo Violin in Eb-Major, No 3, "The Eroica".  (Nigel Kennesley).

Franz Schubert: "The Trout" duet for Tin Whistle and Accordion. (The Cambridge Buskers).

Olivier Messiaen: "Turangalila", in a new interpretation for the washboard & spoons by Bert Bunions.

Gustav Mahler: "The Song Of The Earth" in a downsized arrangement for 13 instruments including harmonium, by Arnold Schoenberg.

Tribute to Humphrey Lyttleton:
Beethoven: Triple Concerto - played on the Kazoo and Swannee Whistle, with Colin Sell at the piano.  Colin will stop playing the accompaniment half way through, and the soloists have to keep going.  Points will be awarded if they are still in the right place when the accompaniment rejoins them.  And points mean...

Pre-Concert Event: A chance to meet Charles Hazlewood. Wet sponges will be provided.

I've only found this thread recently but I thought I'd add a few Feldman works for these distracted times:

String Quartet and Banjo
Two Instruments
String Quartet (II) [5 minutes of highlights]
Piano No Hands
For Frank Dobson
I Met Henry on the 23 Bus

Sadly, next week's performance of Elgar's overture Cockaigne may have to abandoned following the interception by the Drug Squad of a package containing the parts.
