i think he will make a great president and she will make a superb vice president

Why?

he has experience and she has optimism

obama has nothing but optimism

america needs to 'get real' with optimism

I also think he will scare the cr** out of putin which is required, right now, as we are in another cold war era

But the style is down to coaching, inko: it's the ultimate aim of any such coaching that the style convinces quite independently of any substance contained. Stepford Wives again.
I don't seem to be able to extract much substance from any of these speeches on either side though :/  I can appreciate style though.

(Biden's "that's not change, that's more of the same" line is pretty catchy!)

Exactlly the opinion one would expect from someone who thinks the human race should make itself extinct. McCain is certainly your man.

i have decided that V H E M T is not practical, the traditional method of human population reduction is via warfare, i learnt this from reading about american plain indians, apparently they always had skirmishes and little wars plus the odd massive massacre

resources are limited, humans are unable to restrict breeding, war is inevitable

If I had as little faith in humanity as you do I think I would top myself.

And the substance is for the most part down to speech-writers.

Longevity to the cynics, is what I say.

(Oh gosh I'm feeling a little bit cynical today as well).

McCain has Scots-Irish, Anglo-Irish and English ancestry. His father and his paternal grandfather both became four-star United States Navy admirals.

That's a decidedly optimistic and unscientific statement in this age of nuclear armament.

i think he will make a great president and she will make a superb vice president

Why?

Because they accurately reflect the people they are representing?

the election is rigged, remember al gore, mccain has won, it has been decided

most americans are republican, if you see a political map it has democrats on the coast but the majority,in the middle, are church going, right wing, gun owning republicans

nobody is going to use nukes, people have read up on 'nuclear winter',they know they are weapons that can not be used on mass and anyway, what is the different between bombing with conventional weapons and nukes ?

hitler killed 6 million jews without nukes

we fire bombed germany

the americans dropped napalm on vietnamese villages

Re: Stepford Wives

It’ll be intriguing to see how feminist America reacts to Palin. She’s the perfect post-feminist: the 1960s-70s libertarian socialist re-born as pro-capitalist, pro-imperialist, pro-war, anti-abortion, anti-Darwin, pro-gun, anti-nature, sexy mom. A perfect example of capitalism occupying territory staked out by the left then remoulded to serve the market’s interests. Thatcher had a similar role, but that was a political accident -- the Tory grandees never expected her to last -- but Palin’s now set as future US President.

One thing Thatcher taught the British left was fire must be met with fire. It was hopeless sending in men to attack her -- they looked like bullies or sulky children whom she sent to bed without any supper. Wilson, Callaghan, Foot, Kinnock, all just bounced off her. Barbara Castle was the only viable weapon but she (with massive strategic ineptitude) was never deployed. Palin’s going to be equally hard to attack. Has Michelle Obama any lead in her pencil? I’m beginning to think a mistake was made not to choose Hillary, at least for VP. But she’d be no good on the sexy mom front. She's too old and cold hearted. Better Michelle with her cheekbones.

Palin's going to hit a zillion cultural buttons in the States -- the sexy, clever, sassy cop from a trillion TV shows. The little librarian glasses perched on her perfect sassy nose are a genius touch. Democrat strategists need to get busy.

obama did not choose hillary, mccain has gone 'tactical' and nominated a gutsy lady to appeal to those 'fed up' hillary voters
