I have a list (that's as long as your arm) of rapidshare links to Bayreuth performances.
pm me with your email, and i'll get it off to you.
Alternatively, someone tell me how to upload a document here.
it's not big.

Sorry, may be we don't understand each other. There are people here who love Wagner and they can tell.

tonybob,

If you send the list as an attachment to my personal e-mail address (see envelope to the left of this message) then I'll put the .doc on a website which can be linked from this thread.

My native language is Russian tonybob. I live in Eglish speaking world for a long time, but still don't speak and particularly write as well as native people do.

Леночка!  Не скромничите!  Вы отлично пишите по-английски!  Smiley  Your English puts my dismal grammatical errors in Russian to shame!

Thank you R_T. Are you back in cold country or still enjoying London? You Russian sounds perfect to me. Мне нравится этот боард. Я узнаю много нового. People here are not too interesting and a lot of politic that I don't like. The board has much better quality people in terms of knowledge.
smileys are good and cheer me up.

Aha, that's because you haven't heard me speaking Russian, Lena ;-)  Yes, I'm back in Russia today, going from +13C on the South Devon Coast to -30C overnight here in Moscow  Shocked    So is that you playing the piano in that smiley?  :-)

I wish I had such a nice piano to play. Here they have only one piano (25 years old) Steinway (one size smaller than the biggest model). And it is reserved for international artists. Others have to rent their own piano if they want to play for local crowd at a cost of 700 euro. And this is if one can get it, because the man who rents is often on vocations.
If you could hear me speak you would hear Russian accent, heavy enough because I left Russia at 20, but not as heavy I hope as recent comers.
I am trying to play in ensembles, but there are not many good musicians (instrumentalists) here. I am so glad I met nice people on the board that love music. I know much less as I was very young when we left.
Is it really -30? But it is usually nice a warm (even hot) inside. And a lot of hot water. And one can take a nice bath to relax.

Hi Lena

Yes, it was really -30C last night, the overnight temperature was unusually cold.  It's only -18C during the day, which is a bit more tolerable Smiley  700eu to hire a Steinway? Ouch!   When we hire the Gnessin Academy Concert Hall it costs only 340eu for the entire hall (360 seats), including evening attendants, cloakroom attendants etc... and the use of either Steinway or Bluthner grands on stage (you can choose, both instruments are available on stage).

I graduated from Gnessin college. I know the venue very well. I think Viardo donated Steinwei. I read if somewhere on the net.
Here the venue also costs 300 euro on top of 700 piano.
Many people don't want other piano here because they can control who comes in town. I am making it sound may be worse than it is, but I never saw it so close.
I should not complain too much because I am still playing and teaching.

Oh, I can even show you a picture of that Steinway in action, Lena! Probably you've played it yourself? Smiley  A bit of nostalgia for you!

I love it. Thank you R_T. I don't think I played that Steinway, because I was there a long time ago  Wink

It looks beautiful. The stage looks a little different than when I was there. They held competition in the whole for those who wanted represent Russia (USSR) in Tchaikovsky competition. I remember listening to cellists with Rococo variations.
It is a nice small hall, I loved it. What did you choose: Steinway or Bluthner? I only tried Bluthner once. I did not even know they still make them. Here it is possible to buy Petroff. They are not as expensive and not bad for the money, but may be Bluthners are good, I don't know. The one I tried was not as good (it was upright).

Thank you Reiner. I am very nostalgic now.  Cry Cry Cry Where is my handkerchie?
Do you go to Большой зал консерватории?
