I'm sorry if you guys have thought I abandoned you, but I've been having some family problems the last week or so.

The second set of polls has now concluded.

The turn out wasn't quite as strong as the first poll and the end result was EVEN MORE tightly contested, but I'm pleased to announce that the Second new Moderator is Ron_Dough.

If you'd like to welcome Ron into his new role as the moderator.

The next set of nominations will start in a few days, and will be open for a couple of days.  Unlike the second election, the third will be completely from fresh, requiring everyone to put themselves forward again and require seconds.

Regards,

Michael

Fantastic Ron.  Excellent. Capital!

(I have a curious to know the vote break-down of each of the polls, but it's rather an idle one, so)

Congratulations and/or commiserations (whichever you each prefer Smiley) to Ollie and Ron and thanks to Michael for Returning Officer duties.

I personally don't feel any great purpose is served by specifying the relative positions of the other candidates who nobly put themselves forward. Congratulations to those elected and thank you very much for offering your services to those who weren't seems about right to me.

Just to second GG's sentiments there.
(Whatever we do, though, let's not put this issue to a vote, OK??)  Smiley

Me neither, but I can accept that others feel differently.

It's probably a good idea to get the polls over first, as Michael says.

And Michael, I don't see why anyone had the right to feel abandoned or neglected last night. I certainly didn't. I think there was some slight lack of clarity over procedure for this second poll, but it seems to me quite acceptable not to post the result till the following morning if you have other things to attend to (as I'm sure we all do, from time to time).
