It's going to be SO hard to choose... Undecided

Does it have to stop after this or can we have 7 Moderators please? Cool

Although Morticia has already been seconded, I'd just like to give a very hearty thumbs-up to her bid.

I think it'd be an excellent thing to have some representation from the female board membership on the emerging moderating team, not least because - at its occasional but reverberant worst - this board can take on something of a 'boys with toys' feeling which I know can be off-putting to many.

All of which would count for nothing if I didn't also feel that Mort would make a very good moderator in her own right.  Happily, I think she'll make an excellent member of the team.  During the 'difficult' patches, I've found her approach measured and considered, qualities which I'm sure she'll bring to the post.

As others have already spoken up in support of individual candidates, I hope members won't mind that I've done so here.

Good luck to all!  Smiley

Good luck to all indeed!

Quick reminder then...

Candidates are (in nice neutral alphabetical order) -

Il Grande Inquisitor
John Wright
Morticia
Sydney Grew
thompson1780

Voting opens at 1900 this evening and closes Sunday at 1900 (GMT! Careful, those posting from far-flung lands).

Send a PM to the 'member' r3ok_poll voting for one candidate only.

cheers

Gosh! Has it got round to voting time already?!

I haven't really done any canvassing, but many of you will have seen my musings on how moderation should be, and I hope I can act responsibly according to those principles.

But I do feel that we have an excellent selection of candidates for mod3, and that alongside Ollie and Ron, whoever is chosen will form part of a great team.

Very best of luck to all candidates.

I don't think an election is supposed to be accompanied by quite this much bonhomie, is it?  Cheesy

May I just say, though (again as ollie the poster rather than oliver sudden the moderator, as far as that's possible) - please don't let the fact that all the candidates are so good put you off voting. It's good for the board if we're not just all involved but have the feeling of having helped build the 'feel' of the place.

I'd second that: it's a wonderful field of candidates, and I'll be very happy to work with any of them: but I'll feel that much happier if I know that we've had a big turnout.

A tough list this one for the nomination of the third moderator. But for me it would be between Morticia or Il Grande Inquisitor.

I would vote for Il Grande Inquisitor
