Thanks folks - it feels good to be here!

My other loves on R3 include Saturday evening's 'Opera on 3' (esp. anything by Wagner), the Saturday afternoon Jazz section (Line-up, Record Requests), The Choir and Between the Ears.

I'm glad I found you all and I look forward to sharing in your enthusiasm for this wonderful channel which, lest we forget, stands head and shoulders above all the rest!

A warm welcome, nicktaylor

Are you all set for the 2007 Bayreuth Ring Cycle which starts on R3 with Das Rheingold (complete) on 24 Dec and continues with one act per day over two weeks?

Certainly, although at the moment there's a lot of flitting back and forth between a computer and a suitcase going on.  Cool

hi nick.
whilst wiping your feet, ruminate on the thought that you *may* look a *little* like Les Dennis.

Thanks for that tonybob - no offense taken! Actually I've had Rory Bremner, Tim Brooke-Taylor, and more recently, a blonder version of David Cameron before but never Les Dennis, so I'll add that to my collection!

Oh and I forgot to say thank you to Stanley for informing me about the 2007 Bayreuth Ring Cycle starting on Christmas Eve. I wasn't actually aware of it. There was nothing in the R3 controllers note / email for December and I can't see anything on the R3 website about it, so it was fortunate for me that you let me know. What lovely people there are on this board!
