I'm glad to have found this board, having been on the BBC Radio 3 messageboards which I was disgusted to see closed down in an apparently peremptory fashion, rather in the manner one would expect from a fascist state! (Well, perhaps not: messageboards would naver have started there, would they? - but it does give an indication of the way things are going at the BBC). What is it that Radio 3 are afraid of? There was much adverse criticism of many aspects of their output and management - but surely they should listen to these and make changes? After all, who is the broadcasting system meant to serve?

As a matter of interest - where has the list of members gone?  How many do we have now?

A few people have asked this. Some security thing like the avatars I think.

The total number of members is viewable at the foot of the home page, and you can look at 'More Stats' and see Ollie's total  Shocked

You are very welcome PeterKatin. I am already used to this board, but at first was getting lost.

I hope to ask you some pianistic questions in the future. It is so exciting to have a distinquished pianist here.

There is a thread about books and a thread about technique, which is not going anywhere.

trained-pianist's nowadays! That's what comes of me going to Basel for a gig...

Although I've found a café with 'free' wireless. That might stop me falling impossibly behind... Undecided

Please keep up ollie. I have to keep up with my practicing. I hope my technique improves by typing with light wrist and sensitive tip of my finger.

peter k,

welcome - very glad to have you come and join us here, but also wishing we can get the mess sorted out at the BBC end too!

There's a surfeit of smileys on many of the posts here, but the other features are very good, and most importantly, there is a lot of good discussion and fun.  Hope you enjoy it.

Peter,

Your arrival here is an excellent piece of news: your posts on the old board were always enlightening. We look forward to much more of the same!
