With the imminent closure of the Radio 3 boards (which I'm ashamed to say I've been a lurker for quite some time) I thought it might be time I gave something back for those who i have taken so much.

Take a look about, register if you like it and hopefully the community will continue to live on, this time i promise to post.  Smiley

I hope to speak to you all very soon.

 Cool Roll Eyes Wink

Very astute timing Michael. It'd be useful to know more about you, but clearly youv'e lurked with honourable
intent. AmI right in thinking this board is linked to live365 internet radio?
I just happen to be the first arrival among far more distinguished company but here goes. I'm a semi-pro
musician (composer/ performer), write a bit and do locum work in social care and I hail from Sarf Lundun.
I will if I may spread the word about this initiative. Cheers, m/f

You've made a good point.

Me, I'm a want to be writer and although I don't know too much about classical music, but I'm always trying to broaden my horizons.  I often listen to classical music without actually knowing what it is that I'm listening to, and always get frustrated when people around me don't know which piece I'm talking about when i hum it. 'You must know dahh dahh dahhhhh daa dumm dee dahhh dahhh.'

I'm not sure if this is related to 365 internet radio mind you, but feel free to spread the word.  Smiley

Hey everyone!

I'm not a regular but I thought I would join and wish you the very best of luck with this forum. May it become a resounding success like John Wright's R2OK! forum.

Best regards,

Scott.  Wink

I know this is special pleading, but....

I'd hoped there might be a special area to discuss R3's choral output.  It would be most relevant if DracoM, SimonSays, and certain others joined us in this new forum.  But it could include CE, The Choir (whatever one may think of Aled), and those occasional items on the EMS --- and I have woken up the last two mornings to hear German cathedral choirs singing Bach (Augsburgers on Singet dem Herrn were less thrilling than King's under Willcocks - but there I go, being provocative!)

Early days, so I suppose "wait and see" is still applicable.  But perhaps you could bear it in mind, Michael....

Many thanks indeed, Michael:  much appreciated.  I'm afraid I was too slow on the draw to meet your terms --- but at least that shows there was a market for the idea!  Now we must wait to find out whether tomorrow's CE elicits awe, disgust, or a hell-raising mixture of both.  [And if some MBers choose to post their views on Auntie's R3 MBs, it will be another chance to redirect them here]

Hello!

Thanks for setting this up, Michael - big thumbs up to speed, functionality etc on the new boards. (It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did that with all the potential financial and tech support the BBC boards were actually the worst designed I've ever come across, but hey...)

By the way, I'm Tim, you may know me from such messageboards as Dissensus, I Love Music (occasionally) and my blog, The Rambler.

Hello all. I was a regular reader and an occasional poster on the other board. I am retired. Main interests - Haydn, Schumann, Wagner, 2nd V.S. and New Music. I hope the recent posters on the New Music M.B will be coming over, along with the long-time posters from whom I've learnt so much over the last few years. Thank you for the new board.

Michael,

What a splendid home from home! Just as I though I'd have no more excuses for not applying myself to other things it seems it's going to be business a usual....

Many thanks,

Ron

It's worse than that, as I've begun to discover:
