Sadly, things are not working between myself and admin. I will have to leave, and this is my last posting.

I've very much enjoyed posting here, you are all very fine people. Do keep the forum alive.

Regards,

John Wright

I'm very sorry to read that you want to leave this forum, John. I would like to ask you if you could reconsider your decision. I would miss your presence on this forum. Please give it another try.

All good wishes,

Pim

John, I am very sorry to hear this.  This forum came into existence largely due to the work you did, and it would not be the same without you.

Please don't close the door behind you - I hope you will reconsider once a little time has passed.  Several of us have left in the past, including me - somehow something drags us back again Wink

All the best John. You know prodigals are always welcomed back.

Oh, and don't leave that violin in the garage.

John, you are familiar with many old ballads.    How about this one:

Oh, NO John, NO John, NO!

I hope you will not leave us, John.
This forum will not be the same. Every person's contribution is unique.

I wish that you can overcome difficulty that you are experiencing now with admin. We on this forum are trying to overcome our misunderstandings and on the whole we are trying to support each other.

I do hope that we will be able to iron out our differences.

I find it a pity that anyone should feel the need to leave the forum completely as a result of disagreements with the moderators. I've noticed that two or three other members seem to have withdrawn themselves recently for similar reasons.

You're reading things into the situation that aren't there, t_i_n. The mods are not admin, nor has JW suggested in his post that any of the disagreement involved us: I'm sorry, but it's important that we make that clear right now.

"Ere, you seen this", said Badger, "John Wright has gorn orff!"

"Whatchya mean, gorn orff" sniffed Stoat looking up from the 32 page spread in Hello Magazine of the latest Charlotte Church & Gavin Henson Christening.  "Blimey, for one wot was raised in Splott she dun alright, did you know she could have been nearly as famous an opera singer as Katherine Jenkins?"

"Stoat" exclaimed Badger, pulling himself up to his full 4'6" and rubbing his grimy hands down his soiled green velvet waistcoat, "John Wright is no more on this MB"

"Oh Never!" exclaimed Stoat "Was it something I said?"

"We shall never know" said Badger with his most stern Paddington Bear gaze "but we hope he will return"

"Amen to that" echoed Stoat.

Thanks for that clarification, Ron, and sorry for the misunderstanding. Embarrassed

I'll delete my earlier post if no one minds.

I'd just like to echo what Ron said.

I'm afriad that it was just I that John was referring to, and not anyone on the Moderation Team.  I think that is important to make clear.

John
We haven't seen eye to eye on all issues in the past  Roll Eyes, but it would be a real shame to lose you from the board.
I remember some lovely threads that you've started (especially the one about your family's history and your trip to explore it) and I've enjoyed hearing about the saga of your garage!
I hope that this isn't goodbye.
