Hi, Pim.

Yes, it does appear we have something in common. What do you write as a hobby?

Mainly about historical subjects. At the moment, I'm writing about a subject related to the German occupation of the Netherlands (WW II). I hope to write about more pleasant subjects in the future!

Interesting.

I no longer write as much recreationally since taking up writing professionally. Too much of a 'busman's holiday'. I even read less than I used to. The only upside is that I'm now more likely to spend time listening to music (which I've always enjoyed more than scribbling, anyway).

Me too! I don't like to write at all, but I keep writing because writing a text in the best way you can is a very rewarding job.

In the end (I hasten to add).

The odd thing is, I don't consider myself a writer at all. I know those who are - passionate about words and language, they wake up with an insatiable urge to write something, anything - but I'm more of a communicator. People tell me what they want to say, and I try to find the best way to say it. Then I bill them.

Gosh! If only composers had a handle on this...  Wink

Thank you, chaps.

I'm not online much at the moment as I'm having some ISP issues. But rest assured, I shall return to post more frequently when these are resolved.
