I used to spend some of my school holidays with my grandmother, who lived in Wingate, which is not far from Hartlepool. The way the other kids in the street spoke amused me and they thought I was posh but they were very easy to get on with and we used to look forward to seeing each other during the holidays. My grandmother is sadly no longer with us but I still have relatives in Wingate and Wheatley Hill.

Can I join the homesick crew here? 4 years in my case, and LOVED that place! There used to be a great little pub, just down Oxford Rd on the left from there - can't remember the name though! Ian, Tony? Tiny place, and this was the early 80s...

Did you ever hear about 'the flat' which was a favourite haunt for so doing (eventually they found it)?
