We were just starting spring, grass visible and starting to turn green again. Mud everywhere, and suddenly Wallop! 24 hours of snow. followed by 1 hour 15 mins of shovelling.

I did a lot of shoveling in Toronto. This was not my fovourite pass time, but it was good for exercises. Now spring is going to come hopefully. I hope trees were not damaged, but usually they somehow survive.

...but. actually to rant:
I am exhausted by brother and two kids here for Easter. I don't need laptop Dr Who, arguments about who rides the scooter, whether tuna steaks are 'yuk', who is fatter than whom, laptop dalek animations (sorry, done that), lack of ketchup in house, how late one can stay up (heck I'LL go to bed instead!), who gets the last slice of indifferent lemon tart I made (anyone like it? No.), what the hell we do tomorrow before the shops open, who got to read the bedtime stories tonight, who had a bath first, who made the cat disappear by stroking it too much, laptop Dr Who (did I menton that?), whether the apple juice I bought is 'yuk' or not, whether Dr Who is any good at all (may just have mentioned that already)...
Soz!

I've managed to miss, or rather, not miss, (if you catch my drift), both episodes of the new series of Dr. Who. Ah, what bliss!

Cripes, Martle!! I feel exhausted just reading about your day. Yikes! No ketchup in the house? Tough, kids. What to do before the shops open tomorrow? Why, go to church of course! You, of course, are allowed to sleep in to recover from today Gee, your cat is smart. They know all the tricks! Bryn - Bring back William Hartnell and wobbly sets!

I remember somebody not far from here telling me some years ago that I couldn't possibly have a valid opinion on music that I hadn't heard. They were quite correct. IMO Dr Who is, and has always been, one of the best programmes on the telly. So, if you haven't seen it, how can you be glad or not that you missed it? How, indeed, can you form any valid opinion whatsoever?

The Emperor suspected they were right. But he dared not stop and so on he walked, more proudly than ever. And his courtiers behind him held high the train... that wasn't there at all.

SS!, you seem to have read a great deal more into "I've managed to miss, or rather, not miss, (if you catch my drift), both episodes of the new series of Dr. Who. Ah, what bliss!" than is actually contained within the comment itself. I had intended to watch. I failed to. I don't regret having done so. The only dowside is that some of the time I had intended to spend with Dr. Who was wasted listenining to Mozart.

Martle, I understand you. This experience is given to appreciate your normal routine (and the cat will be happy to, I am sure. I am doing what many musicians find themselves doing during holidays - practicing. Now my clarinet student decided to change his piece for an exam. I have to learn Weber Duo in a hurry. Exam is in May, so it is not panic time yet. It is an equivalent of BA diploma and three people from London are going to come. They are going to videotape our performance and show it there in London to discuss his marks. It costs him a lot (400 euro to be exact), which is not that much if you consider tickets, paying for three people, their meals etc. This is what the student told me. I think it has to cost more if three people are coming. Anyway I am practicing and should do more, but that bicycle man are beckoning me too often. (Also I found another game there with circles). Today I promise not to play games. (Ha, ha, ha, I do have to reward myself, but only if I practice more than 4 hours).
