I enjoyed her Bach and Beethoven recital, but I didn't really need to be told that she was wearing ivory trousers (WTF?) and that her lipstick matched her top. She could have been wearing a donkey jacket for all I care.
Too much information.

she was wearing ivory trousers You would think they would be a bit stiff to walk in! I found that odd all through the Proms. The Radio 3 announcers often passed comment on soloists' attire, presumably just to fill air time (there wasn't anything interesting to say about the music?)

Peter Grimes, Thank you for posting about Angela Hewitt recital. I have a little time before my student comes. I am listening to the recital on listen again now.
I don't care what she wears, but it is somewhat interesting what she was wearing. I like to see what women are wearing when I attend the recitals. May be it is important to make an over all impression. Ivory trousers are unusual for lady pianist to wear.
I already heard Angela Hewitt several times on Radio 3. I think she is a good pianist (in kind of safe way). What I mean is that she plays safe pieces safely. And she knows what she can play.
I am posting the last comment because I want to know what people are thinking about her playing.

Are these ivory trousers? I don't really care what she wears, I just enjoy her playing. I once gave her a lift to Birmingham International station Oooops sorry, you probably can't see that picture, I'll try to post it from elsewhere. Well here's a link to the pic anyway: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/181/178/1600/angela%20hewiit%201.jpg

Angela Hewitt talks to Alan Rusbridger about the joy and difficulty of playing Bach: Just talk a bit about what it’s like living with Bach. Well, he’s a pretty good friend. He’s a demanding friend, I tell you! He gives me sore muscles in my neck! Everybody thinks vertically in Bach. I try to always think horizontally. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/sep/19/angela.hewitt.bach.alan.rusbridgerFascinating.

Is it just me, or does she bear more than a passing resemblance to Imogen Cooper?

I like both of them. Do people like Angela's red dress? I have to say that to me Imogen Cooper looks very beautiful. Also as a pianist she is probably more interesting, but it is subjective opinion. I am just saying it to hear people's opinion.

This is very cute, Andy D. I think AH is a pianist in heart. I think she is analytical by nature. I loved violin more than piano when I was a child and I still do (though I like piano sound now too). I just love Imogen Cooper very much. I don't like that, but it is so difficult to buy dresses. You have to try so many and it is easy to make a mistake.

I like her red dress from the waist down. Her shoes are nice, too. I didn't know what Angela Hewitt looked like until I saw that picture. I didn't think she looked like that but I think I was mixing her up with somebody else.

I agree with you IgnorantRockFan. Shoes and the bottom part of her dress is all right. I don't understand what she has on her arms in that red dress. I think it would be better to have red colour on top and something dark on the bottom. I don't think I like the colour or design of this one too, but I am too critical. May be it is not bad.

She means everybody thinks harmonically, but she thinks in terms of lines (poliphonic lines). I don't think I like the interview very much. Some people are gifted with language skills and some are not. I also think that people have to know what I mean or what I want to say. This is better picture in my opinion. do people like it?

I am wondering what if anything Ms Hewitt's appearance has to do with her playing.

I know what she means. But I can't believe it's true: do most Bach players think harmonically rather than polyphonically?!
