I'm sorry to come across a bit touchy, Michael. I'm just not feeling myself at the moment.
Now that could seem to suggest that you're not the only gay in the village.......

Sorry to continue to be dim. but... How do I change the avatar? I go into my profile, but I cannot see how to change the image. If I want to post on Photobucket, I take it I have to join as a member. Then I link my profile to to Photobucket site?

Don When you go to your profile, you need to click on 'Forum Profile Information'. That takes you to the place to put up a new link or whatever.

When you go to your profile, you need to click on 'Forum Profile Information'. Thanks Martle, but I found the Forum profile Information. I couldn't work out how to change the image from there. When I first looked at it, there were a number of standard images I could choose (Was I more Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bob Marley, or Britney Spears pre-rehab with full head of hair?) That is now inoperative (not that it was really me). I couldn't see how to change my present image to something more appropriate for one of my years. (Actually, I quite like the present one, it just seems a bit vain of me.) And what I really want to know is how to link to Photobucket. Maybe the answer has already been given.

Yes, in the announcements section somewhere is the original posting about the Photobucket with a login and password.
You upload your photo, a square one or near-square is best, for Avatar you copy it by left-clicking the http field, that can then be pasted in the field in your profile page.

Thanks, John
I have since worked out how to change the photo without linking. I click browze.
I'll play around with photobucket.

Don,
Yes, but the admin people have said they prefer linking. By uploading an image on to this site you are adding to the file size every mesage you post. The general agreement among all posters, with regard to all avatars, images and smiley in messages, is to link.
This site is free and so has restrictions on how large in can get. Linking images minimises the growth.

In order to join Photobucket I have to give them my gender, DoB, and postal address. I don't want to do that.
