Thanks, John, I'll give it a whirl.

I'm an honest kind of guy and don't feel comfortable giving my address as Stoke Newington Town Hall.  Mind you I find using an alias I find myself being far more outrageous than I would be otherwise. Smiley

"Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days."

That's a bit De Sadean isn't it? Who decided on 120?

This is a minor 'postage stamp' question which I have a feeling might have been mentioned before but I haven't been able to find the answer again. How do you make them a bit smaller?

I use exactly the same 'Little Wolf' picture link here as on the M&S board but they come out differently for some reason. On the other Board he comes out petite, modest and unassuming. On this Board he appears larger with blue, um, border-arrowy-things implying he is really too big and bursting out of the socially acceptable space. Can anyone help on how to shrink him a bit? Nigel?

GG,

I don't get your blue arrowy thingies.  Wolfie looks great.

Umm, I can see the blue arrowy thingies but I don`t think they detract from the charm of Wolfie. He is still wistful and appealing, George Kiss

No blue arrows here either (though he looks to me like a face painted on a rather bulging belly....)

Gosh, thank you, Mort. As long as he is not winsome, ingratiating or beguiling I think I'm still just about on safe ground. I'll stop worrying about it.

My sympathies over your heroic battles with ... IT things that are way over my head. I do hope with the help of your crack team of wise advisers, virgins and ex-virgins here here you manage to get it sorted.

Opposite problem...why is my Zoe and Katie avatar so small? The original pic is very large.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

I get blue arrows on George, Ron and my own new bilby pic if I've got the all-in-one side bar open - as I usually do have - but when I close it they go. It just means that the pic is not square enough ie it's too wide, it can be as big as you like.

If you shrink your browser window left to right, any pic will eventually get a scroll bar even Tommo's!

The avatar display parameters are set up differently at M&S, hence the difference. I did suggest to John W what values to use on here so you can blame me George.

Yours helpfully
Nigel from Mumbai

No that doesn't work, whoever's changing the avatar display settings Grin

Try max height=100

max width=0

Something very, very beautiful has happened. Cry

Little Wolf now appears just the right size and comfortable with his body (as women, but not men, say?). Thank you Andy and thank you, whoever it may be, who is working away behind the scenes doing this. It really is very kind. Smiley

I had thought for an awful moment that making Mr Wolf the right size had had the unfortunate side effect of making Tommo's violin go all tubby. But that seems to have been a temporary phenomenon and it is now back again looking fit as a fiddle.

Well, all credit to Andy for the settings advice, though I think we've been down this road before and now await complaints from folks who say their avatar has shrunk, lost resolution or gone thin  Roll Eyes
