How about shores?

Schoenberg - Am Strande (At the Seashore)
Nyman - A Wild and Distant Shore
RVW - wrote the soundtrack to the film Coastal Command, lots of shores in that (not to mention A Sea Symphony - contains the line 'Fearless for unknown shores on waves of ecstasy to sail')
Grainger - Molly on the Shore

Hmmm - maybe clutching at shores here

I'm going to be a little bit naughty. Here are four composers plucked at random from my shelves. I'm sure someone here with the aid of Mr Google can find a persuasive connection!  Wink

J. S. Bach
Pascal Dusapin
Sergei Prokofiev
Arnold Schoenberg

Almost perfect - try another Schumann work, though.

No, I'm afraid you're high amd dry on this one Smiley

Was I warm on Spain Ian? (Click on the links to see the works I'm suggesting. In one case not entirely seriously.)

Is the last link roslyn is looking for Rose, Meer und Sonne?

Oh, Der Rose Pilgerfahrt. The one about a certain Australian journalist's shattering exposé of the international yeast and baked-bean trade.

I'd agree, Ollie.

Moszkowski – Spanish Dances
Glinka – Jota aragonesa/ A Night in Madrid
Busoni – Spanish Rhapsody
Elgar – The Spanish Lady
Miles Davis – Spanish Key
