A belated good evening, George.

Music is, sadly, not the link here. It's not a common word connection, but you're seeking four pieces of music which should lead you to a certain composer and his works...

...three of the titles are identical to those by our mystery composer; the other title changes slightly through translation.  Wink

No, rm, not Schubert. I'll add a fifth composer which may, or may not, help.

Elgar
Dyson
Parry
Richard Strauss
Tchaikovsky

Not VW, bbm, although he could happily be added to our growing list of composers and the link would be the same work as the Elgar, which may well lead you to the connection!  Wink

Elgar
Dyson
Parry
Richard Strauss
Tchaikovsky
Vaughan Williams

Not Borodin. The Elgar and VW have different titles, but they lead to the same piece by our mystery composer...the Elgar title is exactly the same.

Could be so many...

Verdi. Let's start there.

Work by Verdi with the same title as a work by Elgar? Falstaff, of course!

So, Strauss Macbeth, Tchaikovsky Hamlet/ The Tempest, Vaughan Williams Sir John in Love...

Parry and Dyson...?

And you're on your way! (not the right Tchaik, though). I've added an extra...

Elgar - Falstaff
VW - Sir John in Love
R Strauss - Macbeth
Tchaikovsky
Parry
Dyson
Berlioz
