At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

I've got a recording of Mozart's so-called Symphony 37. It's only the opening two minutes because the rest of it is now reckoned to be by Michael Haydn. There's a musical example of a severed head.

Here's another for those seeking refuge from the snatches competition.
Connect these four composers:
Tartini Offenbach Copland Caccini

Tartini could be tricky....the Devil's Trill Sonata?
May I ask which Caccini we need to search for, martle?

Giulio Caccini has Euridice, as Offenbach has Orfeus in the Underworld. But I can't imagine Copland prancing around there....

It's something about their home life, I suspect, but I haven't a clue.

I'm clueless too. As it doesn't seem to be about pieces they've written, I wondered whether it was to do with changes of surname (Offenbach and Copland) or whether they could form a string quartet (Offenbach on the cello, Tartini on the violin...).

Nice ideas, Tony. But no dice. And you're right: nothing to do with their music.
