It's not Torke's Yellow Pages, but you are barking 'up the right tree' so to speak...

Ah, so it is, but that wasn't necessarily how the clue was intended, just that it is one of Torke's colour pieces.  You'd better have another composer:

Chopin
Johann Strauss II
Torke
Sousa
Tchaikovsky
Donizetti

Mmmmm...need another clue to kick-start this one, methinks.

Chopin
Johann Strauss II
Torke
Sousa
Tchaikovsky
Donizetti
Copland

We already know the Torke is a colour piece, the Strauss a very famous waltz, the Tchaikovsky is a four movement orchestral work (not a symphony) and the Copland is a film score... and it's not a common word connection, btw Wink

Colours?

Copland - The Red Pony
Torke - Ecstatic Orange
Johann Strauss II - The Blue Danube

Or is this too obvious?

Yes to the Copland, pw, but not the others. Although the Torke is a colour-related piece, that's not the nature of the connection...

Chopin
Johann Strauss II
Torke
Sousa
Tchaikovsky
Donizetti
Copland – The Red Pony

Flags?

Copland - The Red Pony (as in the Red Flag)
Sousa - The Starts and Stripes

 Huh Huh

Nothing to do with flags, I'm afraid.

Yes, indeed. Really fun music, full of energy, I think. So, we have two so far, plus a gloomy Russian to add...

Chopin
Johann Strauss II
Torke – Bright Blue Music
Sousa
Tchaikovsky
Donizetti
Copland – The Red Pony
Elizabeth Poston
Rachmaninov

Don B practically stepped on the Tchaikovsky...

Num? Is it the Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings then  Huh
I don't think so because there's not the colour connection but it gives me a chance to report that Wikipedia tells me that in the score, PIT apparently wrote:
Quote
"The larger the string orchestra, the better will the composer's desires be fulfilled."
Now are you thinking what I'm thinking...  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Roll Eyes  Smiley

Unless it's the Sérénade mélancholique for violin and orchestra which may not have a colour in it init, it at least is a different sort of 'blue'.
