Assuming it's a commo word could it be:

Haydn: Quartet Op 74 No 3 'Rider'
Sousa: Riders for the Flag
Vaughan Williams: Riders to the Sea
Tchaikovsky: 'The Young Rider' from Children's Album

Nice try with the larks, Daniel, but it's the other Dan who's correct on this one with the riders.

Morning, Dan.

Unbelieveable.

Correct.

No need for Takemitsu (x 3 at least) or Grainger or Ketèlbey (x2)

And that's where I'm heading now....well, not so much the Hanging Gardens, more a domestic jungle really.  Cheesy

Dance seems too obvious, but it is possible...

Given that IGI's been gardening today:

Copland: Hoe down from Rodeo
stravinsky: Rake's progress
Tchaikovsky: Queen of Spades
Bernstein: ?

Copland: Hoe down from Rodeo
stravinsky: Rake's progress
Tchaikovsky: Queen of Spades

The Bernstein could be Candide, which ends with an exhortation to cultivate one's garden.

Well spotted, Dan. The Bernstein [ed. as pw's just spotted] is more an over-arching theme/ prayer that comes at the end of Candide... Make our Garden Grow!!

It's looking less jungle-like now, but my back's rather sore!!

I've finally caught up with the Bournemouth Bartók - an SACD of The Miraculous Mandarin which is quite stunning - super performances and great sound; the bass drum quite made me leap at several points! Hungarian Pictures now playing.
